What Is The Findley Award?
The Findley Award is an international recognition award celebrating one individual whose exceptional work has advanced, supported, developed or enriched the understanding, practice or appreciation of soap bubbles. Nominations may come from any meaningful area of bubble-related work.
Named in honour of Rick Findley, remembered within the bubble community with great love for his creativity, generosity, innovation, contribution and love of bubbles. The use of his name celebrates that legacy while allowing the award to recognise achievement across the full breadth of the international bubble world.
The award is owned and governed by the Association of International Bubble Artistes (AOIBA). Un Cielo Pieno di Bolle in Venice is its host and presentation partner.
The Findley Award is considered every year, but it is not automatically presented. It will only be awarded where the judging process identifies a recipient whose contribution is considered worthy of the honour.
Nominations are assessed by an international judging panel whose members bring a diverse range of knowledge and experience from across the world of bubbles.
Who May Be Nominated?
The award is open to living individuals from any country who are at least 18 years old by the nomination closing date and have a clear and meaningful connection with the world of bubbles.
Basic eligibility alone is not enough. A nomination must concern a genuinely exceptional contribution. It will be assessed on its substance, quality, significance and impact, not popularity, public profile, professional seniority, length of career or reputation alone.
The contribution must primarily relate to significant work carried out, developed or actively continued during the two years before the deadline. Earlier work will not qualify on its own unless it has continued or created renewed impact during this period.

Who May Nominate?
Anyone may nominate an eligible individual. AOIBA membership is not required, and you may nominate yourself.
Each person may nominate only one individual per award cycle. AOIBA will contact the nominee after nominations close and the nomination will only proceed if they agree.

When nominations open, complete the Nomination Pack request form below. You will receive the guidance, privacy information, sample form and link to the official nomination form.
Please read the pack before preparing your nomination. It explains the questions, evidence requirements and assessment process.
Nominations must be submitted using the official form before the deadline. Late nominations, additions and amendments cannot be accepted.
